Deputies Arrest Suspected Human Trafficker, Recover Three Kids After Crash in North Florida

first_imgFlorida deputies report that three minors are safe, following a burglary and high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Jackson County on Wednesday.According to deputies, the suspect, who was identified as Domingo Morales Hamilton Fernando, drove away when they initially tried to talk to him after a burglary had occurred nearby.A chase ensued before he lost control of his car and crashed near the intersection of Dogwood Drive and Old Greenwood Road, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies took him into custody.In addition, officials say a 17-year-old girl crawled out of the car, and a 2-year-old child was found standing in the backseat. Meanwhile, a 3-year-old child was thrown from the car into the grass.All three children were “miraculously” unharmed, deputies say.The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was unaware the minors were in the vehicle during the chase, else they would have not allowed it to continue.Hamilton Fernando is in critical condition. He is wanted for being in the country illegally, according to the Department of Homeland Security.Authorities have also been pursuing him in connection to human trafficking and smuggling.last_img read more
