first_img1 Quique Sanchez Flores oversaw his last game as Watford manager on Sunday Watford captain Troy Deeney has described the decision to let head coach Quique Sanchez Flores leave the club as ‘crazy’.The Hornets secured a second season in the Premier League by finishing well clear of the drop zone in an impressive 13th place – their highest top-flight placing in 29 years.But the Spaniard has paid the price for a torrid second half of the campaign, and will leave the club having played their final game of the season.The Hornets, promoted from the Championship last season, also reached the FA Cup semi-finals in Sanchez Flores’ first season in charge.And Deeney believes the 51-year-old was harshly treated by the club, who will now begin their search for a new permanent boss.“His time here has been a success,” the striker told several national newspapers.“He’s brought me on a lot as a player. I have nothing but gratitude. We’ve had 16 new players and he’s made it seem effortless.“Sunderland have been in the bottom three and managed to stay up, and Sam Allardyce is being hailed as a great manager, which he is, for keeping them up.“But we’ve seemingly coasted through this season and our gaffer’s been sacked.
